CHRISTCHURCH AUCKLAND WANAKA
Anthony has had a varied business life and brings a wealth of experience in management, growth and strategic planning. During the past 12 years Anthony has been involved in the manufacturing and export of Horticultural growing media. He has had extensive global experience and looks forward to helping Tim (his Brother-in-law) grow the Goom Landscape business into a dynamic business.
While admitting not being able to draw a stick figure to scale, Anthony has had plenty of experience in the field with both Tim and Goomsy (his Father-in-law) landscaping his own property which is an on-going project. However now Anthony has a 50/50 share in the business with Tim it might be time to get the whole team involved with a design and build!
During the past 12 years Anthony has travelled the world extensively within the horticultural sector. He looks forward to bringing a fresh approach to both the business and the local Landscape industry. With the recent addition of a daughter Scout, Anthony is also looking forward to being closer to home with more regularity.
With a sound business foundation and great team in place it is an exciting time for the business as the Canterbury re-build continues. Anthony however will not be resting on the great reputation that Goom Landscapes enjoy and will be looking to expand the business as the team develop a Strategic plan to grow.
Outside of business Anthony has been drawn into the Hunting and Fishing culture the Goom men are well known for along with his two teenage sons, Caleb and Ethan. As a self-confessed foodie Anthony enjoys cooking which generally puts him in charge of the camp kitchen and ensuring the bar is well stocked for the tall stories.
When it comes to sport, Rugby engulfs a large amount of time in the Washington household. After many years of playing and coaching rugby, winter months are now kept busy with coaching teenage Rugby.
When not being dragged off on a Goom outdoor adventure Anthony’s favourite holiday is lying on a Rarotongan beach with his wife Sarah enjoying a good read with the cocktail of the day after a few cold beers.
